In this episode we speak with local entrepreneur Michael Menashy who has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $7,500 for Community Grocer, a club that will provide members with a 20-40% discount on local, nutritious, and environmentally sustainable products.

The campaign aims to address the rising living costs in Vancouver that have made it difficult for families to purchase healthier products at affordable prices.

At least 150 purchased memberships – which cost $50 on Kickstarter (or at CommunityGrocer.ca) – will enable the company to secure its facility located in the Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver, begin supplying initial non-perishable products, and ship online orders by June 1st. For every 100 pounds of food sold, one pound of high quality, nutritious food will be donated to a local food bank.
