Meet Jelly’s New Intern, Tiana!

Nice to virtually meet you, I’m Tiana! I’m an SFU Communications student and Jelly Marketing’s current Digital Marketing & PR Intern. I’m so excited to get creative with the Jelly team over the summer, and I can’t wait to learn all things digital. I answered a few of Jelly’s signature blog questions, and chatted about what it’s been like to intern so far. Have a read!

What do you do?

As Jelly’s current Intern, I’m never doing one thing in particular, but I’m constantly learning. I have the opportunity to take part in a range of tasks, involving social media, PR, and communications. I have so many exciting new things to work on every day!

What do you love about your job? 

The best part of the job is working with a collaborative, open-minded, and creative team. I also love being a part of an industry that’s fast-paced, interactive, and constantly evolving.

How would you describe your passion?
I’m passionate about making people happy, and empowering members of any team I’m a part of to be their absolute best.

What is your biggest challenge when it comes to your work?
Handling deadlines when they all seem to come at the same time is a difficult thing to tackle. Working multiple positions at once while being a full-time student has taught me the importance of scheduling and time management. Though my schedule can get overwhelming, I have to keep calm, prioritize, and buckle down.

How do you handle failure?
I normally like to have alternate routes planned. Not necessarily to the same end, but to a conclusion that, no matter what, will result in getting closer to reaching a goal. However, I still ensure that I examine a failure and note what could have been done differently, to apply it to another attempt.

What would you be doing if you didn’t do this?
Everything else I’m currently working on, and working part-time.
