Jelly Shares the Warm and Fuzzy Feelings That #GivingTuesday Brings

December 9, 2014

What is #GivingTuesday? Well…before the hustle and bustle of Christmas arrives, consumerism is at an all time high with Black Friday and Cyber Monday kicking off the holiday shopping season. Hoping to shed a little Christmas spirit on the nation, a new Canadian movement called Giving Tuesday was established to promote the season of giving. Imagine a day that is focused solely on giving back and thinking about others…that’s what Giving Tuesday is all about!

At Jelly, we’re all about sharing the love, especially with those in need. It was important to our management team to give the Jelly team an opportunity to feel the warm and fuzzy feeling that giving back creates, so we were all lucky enough to receive 25 Chimp dollars to give to the charity of our choice.

With 11 staff members, we donated a total of $275 to the following charities that are near and dear to our hearts.

So excited to be able to give a little this Giving Tuesday, supporting two of my favourite charities: Run For Water Foundation and SportAid. – Eric Reynolds, Director of Marketing

Giving Tuesday is an awesome reminder of how powerful a heart of generosity can be. Thanks to Chimp, meaningful giving is made easy. I am honoured to work with amazing people who love to give back! – Nico Bauman, Director of Operations

I gave my money to Run for Water because I got to experience their work first hand in Ethiopia and saw how it changes lives. Chris Montgomery, Creative Director

I’m very thankful Jelly Marketing has given me a chance to support others on #GivingTuesday. I gave to The S.A.R.A.(Save Animals through Rescue and Adoption) Society, as animals are very close to my heart. – Larissa Kroeker, PR Coordinator

I gave to the Salvation Army Vancouver Homestead. I chose them because they work locally, making a difference in women’s lives right here in Vancouver. I think it’s important to take care of your own community. – Natalie Antturi, Digital Ad Coordinator

My heart is so full knowing I had the opportunity to give back Cyrus Centre, a ministry that provides an opportunity for a better tomorrow to youth living in poverty in the Fraser Valley. I’m thrilled to help a very worthwhile cause in my own back yard! – Sarah Clark, Social Media Coordinator

I grew up in Surrey and while I was in High School I used to help out with Surrey street ministries. I don’t get the chance to help out anymore, so on Giving Tuesday I decided to show my appreciation for what NightShift does! – Addison Pasiuk, Communications Specialist

So thankful to have been able to participate in this years #GivingTuesday! I was able to put my chimp dollars towards supporting Compassion Canada. Love those kids! – Amy Mitchinson, Client Experience Coordinator
