Alicia Winnett started Alicia Fashionista while she worked as a stylist/digital media specialist for a local clothing company. She had always wanted a place of her own to express her creativity, share outfit ideas, and tell stories.
With thousands of Instagram followers and an always-trendy blog, Alicia’s grown Alicia Fashionista into a board of inspiration for “the millennial everywoman who loves to travel, sees beauty in the ordinary, and believes that confidence is the best accessory”.
What do you do?
I am currently a full time blogger!
What’s your passion?
I love writing, photography, making videos, really, anything creative.
What’s your biggest achievement so far?
Being able to carve my own path in a strange and new industry. And travelling for work, I always wanted to do that!
Trends are always evolving. What do you do to remain fresh, innovative and on trend, while staying true to your brand?
It’s really easy to get sucked into what ‘everyone else is doing’ but I think that always staying true to your instincts greatly helps in the online world. It is still important to pay attention and forecast the latest and always be evaluating which new trends are most worth your brand’s time and efforts.
How do you handle failure?
It sounds incredibly cliche, but I’ve adopted the phrase ‘pivot’ when it comes to business failures. Sometimes results aren’t what you’d hoped for and that’s when it’s necessary to implement change and ‘pivot’ your focus. Everything is a lesson that must be learned and can often help entrepreneurs and/or brands grow!
What’s your favourite flavour of jelly?
Strawberry 🙂
